Creator Square Secures Parkview Building for First Facility

Creator Square is pleased to announce that we have secured the Parkview building as the first step of implementing our Master Plan. We are incredibly thankful to help from those who generously purchased the building on our behalf.

The Parkview Building, located in Johnstown's iconic Central Park, will be occupied by our initial maker workshop, community space, and collaborative live/work spaces. Housing our flagship residency for creators, makers, and artists, the Parkview building will become Creator Square's home when we break ground in late 2015. We are enthusiastic at this step in implementing our program and growing the creative community in Johnstown by providing a significant presence in downtown Johnstown.

The workshop will be the community's creative corner on Central Park, allowing commerce, communication, creativity, culture, to meet in one center of collaboration and learning. The center includes an extensive crafting and technology workshop in the lower level, a gathering and exhibition space with capacity for gallery, store, and cafe use on the street level, and live/work spaces for the resident creators on the upper two levels. The facility is meant to engage the street and promote street activity as a key stop for any active community member or visitor excited to learn about the maker movement. The Creator Center is the first step in a project that may include additional education, workshop, community, and residence spaces in the future.
